Morris
'Station Wagon'
![]()
I thought that
you may be interested to see the photographs which are actually of a
professional conversion project from a 1935/1936 Morris 8 van, to an early form
of 'station wagon'.
The main difference from the original van specification of that time, were the
addition of running boards, installation of fixed side windows and replacement
of the normal two rear doors with a tailgate arrangement, with a canvas rolltop.
These photographs were given to me by Dave Parrish of the 'Morris 8 Parts
Centre'. Apparently these conversions were sold before the war from a
garage owned by the designer, but all that is known is that he may still be
alive, living on the south coast.
